Singapore - maybe with New York and Hong Kong one of THE CITIES, o.K. nothing for diving but the supporting program is one of the best in the world.
1st rule, please keep the environment clean otherwise you´ve to pay painfull fines (for example to throw away a cigarette cost around 500 SIN-Dollar (300 US-Dollar) - maybe it will be a good idea as well for the rest of the world ! Apart from that the standards of living are extremly high, many luxery hotels, tasty food in many beautiful restaurants and many more reasons are thhe result that the city looks like spick and span.
Recommendations for the dinner is of course of all around the 2 famous Quays - the Clark and the Boat Quay. The Boat Quay with countless restaurants is directly located at the waterfront of the Singapore-river (maybe as well with a dinner you can choose on of the boats cruising through the city). Nevertheless you´ll coose - after a diner at Quay or boat you should take a cold tiger and the evening is perfect.

What kind of activities are provided:

The culinary delight is of course everywhere and so simple to find everywhere, the island is simple to small to have problems to find your favorite places and even many of them are directly located at the river. Due the fantastic temperature the entire year you can also sit mostly outside and enjoy this amazing city even in the nighttime - unfortunately it´s nearly raining every day - sometime more - sometime less.
What´s cheap in Singapore ? Definately the food - starting at 18 SIN-Dollar++ for a lunch or dinner ! What is expensive ? The drinks; feeled prices like in other major cities like NY or Tokio etc. ! A beer, wine or cocktail is mostly much more expensive than the food. So take care what and how much you order, otherweise you´ll get an angry suprise when you´ll get your bill.
 

The nightly entertaiment is nearly everywhere on countless hotsports and there are no really quiet days here, even in Insomnia (Chijmes Square) area are many live concert within the week until the morning. At the weekend most of the exptas and SIN´s drive to Sentosa, which is nearly devorlped like a amusementpark -but much more bigger. Even hotels are here and you´ve two ways to get there, 1st the bridge (with toll when you´re not a hotelguest on Sentosa) or by Cable car with an amazing view over Singapore and the suburb. Even here is in the night time many thing to do, but you better ask everday what´s now a hotspot - it changes very fast. Good for you. ! Meanwhile Sentos has developed to an unique funpark with universal studios, countless coffee shops and Hard Rock Coffee. What you want you´ll get it !

Where to stay ?
Singapore hotels are very famous all around the world and every week there opened a new hotel in the past... and for sure in the future. There are countless 5 star hotels with a famous reputation like Ritz Carlton, Hilton, ShangriLa, Le Meridien...
It is difficult to recommend one of them; a good decision if you want to stay on Sentose ist the 5 Star Resort ShangriLa with an own beach and a big pool, it is a little bit different to the other huge hotels on the mainland due the reason the´ve sufficient space for the pool area and sunroof.
Please take care for the “beach“- it is not like it sounds, the sand was imported from Australia only for this funny island and futhermore the water is not like in the surrounding areas like Thailand or Malaysia. Even in the waterfront you´ll see many many of huge supertanker = so not so a romantic place. Bur for a bustling city pretty nice.

An other good recommendation in Singapore City, close to the major shopping malls is the very luxery Ritz Carlton. To say it in advance: Everthing what you can read in the internet of this hotel becomes true - from the amazing view from your bed over Singapore to the same view from your bathtube in the nighttime - everything is nearly perfect. Also you´ll find many noble paitings in the entire hotel - especially in the lobby area. (Price starts arround 265 SIN Dollar -- 140 US Dollar + 21 % local Tax without breakfast - check the rates close to your arrival - the most internet hotel agents have special “latestay-rates”. But even more expensive rooms are worth the money charged for. Only the unbelieveable view from the bathroom is it worth - so maybe when it starts raining again - stay in your lovely prepared (at arrvial with flowers) bathtube and enjoy :-)
Here some more facts to this hotel: 33 floor with an international art gallery in the lobby and additional on many floors, all together they belong to one of the most important art colletion in the world of modern art. Furthermore there are 3 exclusive restaurants and on outdoorPool (with poolbar); Saua, Massage, tennis court and business center - all close to the Marina Square and Orchard road. The baot quay is reachable without taxi even the finacial district.
